Tinubu orders Defence Ministry, Armed Forces to end banditry in 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given directives to the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces to ensure total eradication of all forms of banditry in the country by the year 2025.

Addressing APC supporters in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, stated that President Tinubu was so concerned about how the act of banditry was ravaging Northern Nigerian communities, especially in North-West, reports Sunday Independent.

According to him, procurement of military equipment such as APC, War Plane and other sophisticated weapons for successful fight against banditry had been effected.

Matawalle explained that some of the war vehicles and planes had started arriving in the country.

“The federal government under the watch of President Bola Tinubu is serious and committed to ending the act of banditry in the North West.

The minister, therefore, called for collaborative effort in facing the challenge of insecurity, for the overall development of the citizens.

“The issue of insecurity needs to be faced with all seriousness by all concerned citizens devoid of political affiliation, as bandits have no concern with APC, PDP, APGA or whatever, but concerned about money from ramson or taking the life of the victims,” he stressed.

Matawalle, therefore, appealed to the people of the state to extend necessary support to the President Tinubu administration for the success of the reform agenda.

“Let me assure you that President Tinubu has good intentions to turn around the country for the better, contrary to the myopic thinking of the opposition,” he added.
