Sunday, October 26, 2025 witnessed a large turnout of top dignitaries, Officers, Comrades and friends at The Salvation Army in Anambra State.

The event was the formal installation of the Divisional Leaders of The Salvation Army, Anambra West Division.

Venue was The Salvation Army, Onitsha Citadel located at 1, Salvation Army Avenue, Housing Estate, Fegge, Onitsha, the commercial center of Anambra State.

The Frontier reports that during the epoch-making event, the new hardworking divisional leaders, Lt Colonels Godspower and Stella Anozie, who were appointed somes months ago from the organisation’s Territorial (National) Headquarters in Lagos, to take command of Anambra West, were installed by the Territorial Leaders, Commissioners Friday and Glory Ayanam, ably represented by The Chief Secretary/TSWM, Lieutenant Colonels N. & J. Ezeonyilimba.

Among the special guests were government officials and politicians who gathered in celebration and unity. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and reverence as a March of Witness took place, with salutes presented to the Leaders.

To make the day even more vibrant, the Musical Force of the largest denomination known internationally for its humanitarian services was on standby, adding a joyful and colorful tone to the well attended occasion.

•The installation 

In his message, Lt Colonel Ezeonyilimba charged the new divisional leaders to make it a priority to go after souls for Jesus and care for humanity, especially those placed under their care in Anambra West Division of The Salvation Army in Nigeria.

“You have today been formally installed to take charge of the work of our great Army in Anambra West Division. Make it your topmost priority to go for souls and bring them to know our Lord Jesus Christ as the Saviour of mankind.

“At the same time, you are to care for them physically and spiritually, without discrimination and inline with the mission of The Salvation Army internationally”, he charged the new divisional leaders.

Lt Col Godspower Anozie in his response promised to lead the Army along with his wife Lt Colonel Stella Anozie, in their new capacity as Divisional Commander (DC) and the Divisional Director of Women’s Ministry (DDWM), “with full dedication and through Christ who strengthens us”.

Notable among the dignitaries present were the national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Party, Barrister sly Ezeokenwa; the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in next month’s election, Prince Dr Nickolas Ukachukwu; the former governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Anambra State, Chief Valentine Ozigbo; the Clerk of Anambra of State House of Assembly, Dr Ughenu; House of Assembly member representing Aguata 1 constituency, Honourable Anayo Okparaeke; and the Chairman/Mayor of Aguata Local Government Council, Dr Prince Chibueze Offorbuike, among many others.

Meanwhile, the newly installed Divisional Commander shared his vision of transforming and upgrading the Prayer Mountain at Nteje to a counselling & rehabilitation center for drug addicts and victims of human trafficking.

The APC governorship candidate made a handsome donation to facilitate the vision and equally pledged to partner with The Salvation Army to make the place a reality.

The Mayor of Aguata equally pledged to partner with The Salvation Army to develop the proposed counselling and rehabilitation center.
