Local vigilante groups have foiled armed robbery attempt to cart away component parts of the newly installed 132KVA power substation at Temidire/Ajeja along Ikirun road, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
It was gathered that the suspected armed robbers were armed with dangerous weapons as well as electrical tools to remove the parts of the 132 KVA, reports The Nation.
Sources said the robbers commenced the operation before the local vigilante groups that acted on a tip off stormed the area.
The suspects narrowly escaped arrest but left behind some of the tools that were brought to carry out the operation.
A member of the vigilante group who craved anonymity confirmed the incident.
Also, the Chiefs from the Palace of Soun of Ogbomosoland later visited to get first-hand information.
This is just as officials of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from Ganmo station where Temidire power station will be connected, also rushed down to Ogbomoso.
