Air Chief expresses concern over encroachment of Airforce land in Kano

The FrontierThe FrontierMay 3, 2024 2541 Minutes read0

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal, Hasan Bala Abubakar has expressed concern over the encroachment and re- allocation of land belonging to Airforce in Kano State.

Abubakar, who disclosed this during a courtesy visit on Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf yesterday, appealed to him to restore the re allocated land which was dedicated for its future expansion, reports Daily Sun.

He further craved the governor’s support in connecting the Kano State water facility to the Airforce base in the state.

He lauded the state government for its huge support towards the strengthening of the operations of the Airforce in the state.

He also noted that the joint operations with sister security agencies on internal security in the state has yielded tremendous successes, which had resulted in maintaining peace and stability in the state.

Abubakar also acknowledged the contributions of the Nigerian Airforce personnel in several operations that had led to the arrest of bandits and kidnappers on wanted list of DSS in Kano.

He reassured the state government of NAF readiness to sustain internal stability.

Responding, Governor Yusuf pledged the readiness of hus administration to strengthen partnership with Nigerian Air Force in the discharge of its operational mandate of ensuring internal peace and stability in the state.

Yusuf appreciated the critical role the Nigerian Airforce is playing in securing the nation’s air security component and in providing cover to the ground troops against the internal and external enemies.

The governor sought for a special consideration for Kano indigenes during the recruitment exercise of the Force, giving the large percentage of youth population in the state.

The governor equally requested for the establishment of Air Force Girls Comprehensive Secondary in Kano to complement the existing Boys Comprehensive Secondary School which is located in Kwa, in Dawakin Tofa town.
