•Donald Trump and J.D. Vance

Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the US Capitol in Washington, D.C.

This ceremony will be more than just a swearing-in, it will feature a variety of performances and celebrations that showcase both tradition and entertainment, reports The Economic Times.

Here is a detailed breakdown of events:

Pre-Inauguration Events

“Make America Great Again Victory Rally” – January 19

Hours before the inauguration, Donald Trump will hold a rally in Washington, D.C., featuring The Village People, whose hits like “Y.M.C.A.” and “Macho Man” have been staples at Trump’s rallies. The band emphasised that their performance is “not meant to endorse any political agenda but to bring the country together through music.”

Turning Point USA Inaugural Eve Ball

Hosted by Turning Point USA, this event will include appearances by Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, Donald Trump Jr., Megyn Kelly, and other MAGA figures. The Village People will also perform at this event.

Inauguration Day – January 20, 2025

Musical Prelude

The day’s events will begin with a performance by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln combined chorus and the U.S. Marine Marching Band.

Ceremony Commencement

US Senator Amy Klobuchar, in her capacity as Chair of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, will “call the ceremony to order.”

Swearing-In of Vice President J.D. Vance

Vice President-elect J.D. Vance will take the oath of office, administered by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Following the swearing-in, Grammy-winning artiste Carrie Underwood will perform “America the Beautiful” alongside the Armed Forces Chorus and the Naval Academy Glee Club. Underwood expressed her feelings about the event, saying she was “honoured” to be part of “the historic occasion.”

Swearing-In of President Donald Trump

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the presidential oath to Donald Trump. Afterwards, Trump will deliver his Inaugural Address, outlining his goals for his administration.

Benediction and National Anthem

Faith leaders will close the ceremony with a Benediction, followed by Christopher Macchio’s performance of the National Anthem. Macchio, a classical vocalist, has frequently performed at Trump events, including his Madison Square Garden rally.

Inaugural Celebrations

Parade

President Trump will lead a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, featuring approximately 7,500 participants, including veterans, school marching bands, and first responders. First responders from Butler County, Pennsylvania, will join the parade, reflecting Trump’s appreciation for their service during “an assassination attempt.”

Congressional Luncheon

Following the ceremony, President Trump will attend a luncheon with congressional leaders.

Inaugural Balls

Commander in Chief Ball: Dedicated to honouring military service members.

Liberty Inaugural Ball: Featuring a performance by The Village People, who will “perform at two of Trump’s inaugural events.”

Starlight Ball: Focusing on high-profile donors, with speeches from President Trump.

Post-Inauguration Events

January 18 – Reception and Fireworks

Donald Trump will attend a reception and fireworks display at his Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. Concurrently, Vice President-elect Vance will host a dinner for the incoming Cabinet.

January 19 – Wreath-Laying Ceremony

Donald Trump will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery to honor “the nation’s fallen heroes.” Later that day, he will hold a “MAGA Victory” rally at Capital One Arena, where The Village People will once again perform.
