Woman jumps off hotel building to prevent rape

A 24-year-old woman jumped off a hotel building to escape an alleged rape attempt by the hotel owner and two staff members in Kerala’s Kozhikode, India.

The horrifying incident was caught on camera and has now gone viral, reports AFP.

The woman sustained severe in­juries and was hospitalised.

In a shocking incident reported from Kerala, a woman 24-year-old woman jumped off a hotel building to ward off a rape attempt. The incident took place in Kozhikode, India.

The horrific incident was caught on camera. The ac­cused who were involved in the incident have been iden­tified as the hotel owner and two of his staff.

The video of the incident that has now gone viral shows the woman scream­ing, wailing and pleading the accused not to harm her.

The woman was playing a game on her phone when the accused pounced. The entire incident was caught on the mobile phone camera of the woman as the crime took place when she was playing a game on her phone.

According to police, the hotel owner, along with two of his staff members, al­legedly barged into her room and attempted to rape her. As the woman was assault­ed, she jumped off the first floor of the building causing serious injuries to her hip, spine and hands.

Mukkam police have now filed a case against hotel owner Devadas, staff mem­ber Riyas, and security per­sonnel Suresh.

So far, no arrest has been made in the incident.

The woman was severely hurt in an attempt to escape the alleged rape attempt that took place on Saturday.

The woman, a native of Payyanur in Kannur, was employed as a receptionist at the newly opened hotel, ‘Sanketham’ in Mampetta, near Mukkam.

The woman has been ad­mitted to the intensive care unit of the orthopedic de­partment at the Government Medical College Hospital.

Though the police recorded her statement thrice, no ar­rest has been made yet.
