You can’t win political war against Governor Fubara, reconcile before it’s too late – Wike told

The FrontierThe FrontierJanuary 20, 2025 3941 Minutes read0

•Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike

A chieftain of the pan Niger Delta Elders Forum, PANDEF, Chief Anabs Sara-igbe has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike to, as a matter of dignity, reconcile with the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara before it is too late.

Responding to Wike’s position that he would never make peace with the Governor during a live media chat in Abuja yesterday, Sara-Igbe urged the Minister to take advantage of the olive branch offered by the Obong Victor Attah-led PANDEF and end the political war in the state, because “he can never win this war, reports Vanguard.

He said, “Everything is collapsing on his head. He is losing on daily basis and it has become clear that Wike cannot win this war. It is unheard of for him to say that he would never reconcile with Governor Fubara. What on earth has that young man done to him that he cannot forgive and let go!

“Wike is now like a masquerade that has been undressed in the public. He is fast losing everything. He has lost the local government areas, he has lost the PDP and very soon, the 27 lawmakers will go. He has nothing left again. So, why continue the fight?

“PANDEF under Obong Attah has issued him the opportunity of reconciling with dignity. He should take advantage of that window and make peace with Fubara otherwise his end will be very disastrous and disgraceful”.

Chief Sara-Igbe said while Governor Fubara is always ready for peace in the interest of the state, Wike has continued to frustrate that effort, adding that the attempt by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconcile the duo was one-sided and “Rivers people did not like that arrangement at all”.

He said whether Wike reconciles with Fubara or not, “the state has moved on without him. Wike is not God and he can never be. If he likes, let him reconcile or refuse to reconcile, Rivers State is at peace and Governor Fubara is doing pretty well, he said.
