The Georgetown University Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Index, which assesses women’s inclusion, justice, and security, and the Global Peace Index provide helpful information, even though there isn’t a single worldwide ranking for lone female travellers.
Based on these sources and real experiences, here are five countries that make top destinations for women travelling solo in 2026.
Costa Rica
Costa Rica is routinely listed among the happiest nations in the world and has risen from 60th to 34th on the WPS Index, demonstrating gains in women’s security and inclusion.
