•Governor Dapo Biodun of Ogunde State

The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission has fixed Saturday, November 16, 2024, for the local government election in the 20 local government areas of the state.

The chairman of the commission in the state, Babatunde Osibodu, disclosed this in a statement today.

He said Thursday, August 8, 2024, is scheduled for the release of guidelines for the conduct of the elections and stakeholders meeting while campaigns by political parties begin on Friday, August 9, 2024.

“The political parties are also scheduled to hold their party primaries between Monday, August 26 to Monday, September 9, 2024,” he said.

The Frontier reports that elected local government officials completed their tenure about a week ago as civil servants took charge at the different local government councils across the state pending the election of new chairmen.
