Senator Ned Nwoko’s unfounded promises have ended his second term bid – Delta political stalwart

•Ned Nwoko and Louis Ndukwe

Former Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Council, Hon. Louis Ogugua Ndukwe, has made strong assertions regarding Senator Ned Nwoko’s recent defection from the PDP to the APC.

Ndukwe confidently stated that Nwoko’s ambition to secure the APC ticket for the 2027 Senatorial election is likely to be unsuccessful due to several critical factors, reports Daily Independent.

In an interview at his residence in Oshimili North, Ndukwe explained that Nwoko’s aspiration will face significant obstacles from long-standing party members who have dedicated years to building the APC’s presence in Delta North.

He noted that influential party members may have already been promised the Senatorial ticket, further complicating Nwoko’s bid.

Ndukwe expressed skepticism about Nwoko’s justification for joining the APC, particularly the senator’s claims that the creation of Anioma State would be realised by March 2025.

He found such assertions to be naive and misleading, accusing Nwoko of attempting to deceive voters with unfounded promises.

Ndukwe questioned why President Bola Tinubu, as the leader of the APC, did not formally welcome Nwoko to the party, suggesting that the senator’s departure from the PDP lacked significance.

He characterised the event as a maneuver to distract from Nwoko’s inability to deliver meaningful contributions to his constituents over the past two years.

“This attempt to mislead the people of Delta North by presenting his defection as an achievement is not convincing,” said Ndukwe.

“Nwoko’s claims about Anioma State becoming a reality soon are simply an effort to obscure his record in office.”

He emphasised that the residents are knowledgeable and can distinguish between genuine proposals and mere political theatrics, particularly regarding the dubious timeline for advocating Anioma State under the current APC-led federal government.
