NNPP will defeat APC, PDP by 2027 – Kwankwaso

The FrontierThe FrontierFebruary 21, 2025 1742 Minutes read0

•Rabiu Kwankwaso

The leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, yesterday, expressed confidence that his party will defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and other parties in the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso also said that NNPP has a “golden opportunity” to lead Nigeria, reports The Guardian.

He disclosed this in Abuja at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, emphasising the need for unity and hard work among NNPP members as they work towards becoming the ruling party.

He highlighted the strong presence of party members from various states, including Kano, Bauchi, and Jigawa, he described the party as “united and ready for the task ahead.”

He said, “We are all aware of the difficulties the PDP is facing and the challenges confronting the APC. It is difficult to find anyone who is happy with the APC government at any level, especially at the national level.

“Nigerians are facing unprecedented hardships. Poverty is widespread, insecurity particularly in northern Nigeria has worsened, and infrastructure has decayed with no visible efforts to renew them.

“The infrastructure has decayed and we have not seen any efforts to renew them, and so on and so forth. And therefore our party has a golden opportunity. Because I believe there are free and fair elections in this country, our party will defeat the APC, PDP, and other parties in this country by 2027.

“And I believe that, especially by the attendance of this meeting where I’ve seen so many people, all the elected people, almost 100% of us are here.”

Also speaking at the event, NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, dismissed claims of a parallel leadership being formed in Apapa, Lagos, describing such moves as “baseless and ineffective.”

He urged party leaders at all levels to remain united and focused on the party’s vision.

He said, “I call on our leaderships at all levels, national, state, local government, and ward levels to please brace up and confront these challenges, particularly to ignore the recent claims to establish a parallel leadership in Apapa, Lagos.

“The questionable paper they have been brandishing like a weapon of mass destruction is nothing other than what it is, a paper. We will soon tear that paper apart. Let us stand together as a party, move together as a party, act together as a unified whole with one destiny that is the destiny to become the ruling party come 2027.

“It is definitely going to be a tough journey. However, no journey is worth undertaking if it is not tough. We are the NNPP. We embody the hopes and future of our youth and we are poised to lift Nigeria out of its current state and build a nation of which all of us will be proud.”
