Akwa Ibom govt debunks employment alert

The FrontierThe FrontierFebruary 1, 2024 4321 Minutes read0

Akwa Ibom State Government has debunked an employment alert into the State Civil Service Commision, CSC, and the State Secondary Education Board, SSEB, making rounds on some sections of social media.

The government says emphatically that the employment alert is fake and the handiwork of fraudsters.

This was contained in a statement issued today by the Akwa Ibom State Head of the Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, made available to The Frontier.

The statement reads in part that, “The attention of the Office of the Head of Civil has been drawn to a recent fake job vacancies into the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service and the State Secondary Education Board (SSEB) advertised in some media platforms including fake AKS WEBSITES, Facebook and other social media platforms by fraudsters who demand online or cash payment into their accounts for such employments.”

Elder Effiong Essien stated that, government is issuing the statement to inform the teeming job-seekers, parents and the general public that these advertised job vacancies are fake, ill-intended and should be discountenanced.

He further said, the public should be reminded that employment into the Akwa Ibom State Public Service is free of any charge and always duly publicised through advertorials in the print and electronic media in addition to placement on a dedicated website and call circulars to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), after which names are shortlisted, interviews conducted before appointment.

Essien therefore advised the general public to always cross check all advertised employment opportunities at the relevant offices and urged members of the public to give details of such impersonators and fraudsters to the security agencies for necessary action.
