Abuja barber who chose Wizkid over Davido yet to receive promised N2 million

The FrontierThe FrontierMay 6, 2024 2773 Minutes read0

•Barber Callistus Okolie

An Abuja-based barber, Callistus Okolie, who yesterday, described Davido as the third biggest musician in the Nigerian music industry has declared that he had not received the N2 million cash gift promised to him by an X user who tweets as @MrDablue.

Okolie made this known in a telephone interview with our correspondent today, reports The PUNCH.

According to him, contrary to speculations, he has not received any money from anybody.

Recall that @MrDablue promised to give Okolie N2m when Davido slammed him on social media yesterday.

@MrDablue wrote, “Who has that barber guy’s contact, 2 million naira for him. Davido is not God.”

He added, “Someone just sent me 200k to add to this, this guy will be rich forever.”

However, confirming that he had not received the money, Okolie said, “Yes, someone promised to give me N2m, but I have not received any money.

“Nobody has contacted me. I have not received the money and I have not received a message from him. I dropped my number on his X.com page and I tagged him to everything I wrote.”

He noted that the multiple parody accounts being opened in his name may be responsible for the delay.

He added, “The thing is that many people have created fake accounts with my name, so that is a big problem. I saw that he posted not long ago asking why many people were sending him private messages with my name claiming that they are me.”

He affirmed that he was the real Abuja barber who traded words with Davido and not all those claiming to be the one.

“I’m the real person. I just need someone who is close to him and can tell him that I am the real person. That is what I’m just praying for now, and that is why I’m tagging him to everything I post,” he added.

He dismissed comments that his description of Davido as the third biggest musician in the Nigerian music industry and Wizkid as the biggest was because he was seeking cheap attention from the ‘Jaiye Jaiye’ crooner.

“People can say whatever they want to say. I am forever a loyal fan of Wizkid. That does not mean I don’t love Davido, I love Davido too, but I am a big fan of Wizkid,” he submitted.

Okolie had yesterday, described Davido as the third biggest musician in the Nigerian music industry, to which Davido responded by saying, “@kallystouch I have saved your picture. I would have come to Abuja, and you would have cut my hair that is almost finished, but you like social media. My last three barbers, I opened shops for them. That is how you missed your generation’s blessing.” https://punchng.com/youve-missed-your-generations-blessing-davido-tells-barber-who-called-him-003/

Responding in a video, Okolie said, “FC does not beg, write it down, FC does not beg. Wizkid remains my 001 in the music industry, no cap. I did not say that to hurt anyone or to pull anybody down. Again, there is a statement Davido made that he was coming to Abuja and I would have been his barber, I would have been the person to cut his hair, how?

“Do you know me before that I would have been your barber? If not for my comment would you have replied to me? Let’s be realistic, do you know me before? You don’t know me before? FC is number one. Apart from that, I’m not begging anybody, Davido is not my helper, because whoever will help me will not stress me, Portable has said it before.”
