Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage opens up: I made mistakes dating men without financial stability

Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage has opened up about her past relationship choices, admitting that she made mistakes by dating men who lacked financial stability.

In a recent interview, the singer revealed that she is now more intentional about choosing a partner with wealth, having previously been in relationships with men who were not financially secure.

“I’ve tried dating men without money,” Savage said, “but at this stage in my life, I want to experience what it feels like to be with someone financially stable.”

Her comments come years after her 2018 divorce from former manager Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz, with whom she shares a son.

“I used to make mistakes dating down, saying I don’t care if you’re not making money, it’s just love. But now, I think I need someone who just has money. I think I’m at that point now. Love is really nice, but you can judge me for wanting a wealthier person if you want,” she said.

The singer added, “I want to try [dating someone who’s wealthier], I have tried the other way for so many years. Let me try what it’s like dating someone financially stable”.
