The Lagos State Police Command has released protesters arrested over the October 1 protest dubbed #FearlessinOctober.

Several persons protesting against hardship and detention of #EndBadGovernance protesters in the state were apprehended on Wednesday, reports Daily Trust.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the release in a statement today.

Hundeyin said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, had directed that all the persons arrested at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park on October 2, 2024 for allegedly causing a breach of public be granted bail with immediate effect.

He said the CP gave the directive on Friday during the visit of the presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Comrade Omoyele Sowore, to his office at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.

“The arrested persons have since been handed over to Comrade Sowore. The CP once again assures Lagosians that the Lagos State Police Command under his watch would continue to prioritize their safety and security at all times,” he said.
