BREAKING: I will not stay a day longer than 4 years if elected president — Peter Obi vows

•Peter Obi

Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has said he will serve only one term if elected in the 2027 presidential election.

The former Anambra governor said this today on News Central TV.

“I want to be a one-term president because of stability. I would not stay a day longer than four years, even with a gun to my head,” he said.

Obi, who emerged third in the 2023 election, also slammed President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, borrowing, and the rising cost of living in the country.

It would be recalled that Obi recently defected from the African Democratic Party (ADC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

While in ADC, Obi pledged to serve as a one-term president.
