BREAKING: Protesters shutdown Governor’s Office over killing of farmers by Fulani herdsmen in Ondo

The FrontierThe FrontierMarch 19, 2025 3280 Minutes read0

•The protesters

Protesters have shut the Governor’s Office at Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State capital, over the killing of another five farmers by armed Fulani herdsmen.

The farmers were shot dead in another invasion by armed Fulani herdsmen at Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area of the state, reports Daily Independent.

Angered by the seemingly lackadaisical attitude of the governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa to the incessant killing of farmers in the state by the armed herdsmen in the last two months, the protesters stormed the Governor’s Office this morning and displayed bodies of the casualties of invasion.

The farmers were killed early hours of Wednesday by the armed herdsmen who had about a fortnight ago killed 20 farmers in four farm settlements in the same local government.

Commuters and motorists on Akure/Owo Road are currently stranded as there’s mass protest in Ogbese where the protesters barricaded the road in protest if the ongoing killings in the state.
