BREAKING: Thugs invade State House of Assembly •Security operatives alerted

•Hoodlums

Some miscreants today invaded Ondo State House of Assembly, in Akure, Ondo State capital, while all the lawmakers were in their chambers.

One of the lawmakers, Jide Oguntodu, representing Akure South , noticed the strange faces within the premises of the Assemble and queried them why they were at the Assembly.

When they couldn’t give him any concrete reason, he questioned them where they came from.

They all said they were from Ondo town, which is the constituency of the embattled Speaker of the Assembly, Olamide Oladiji.

The lawmakers therefore ordered the thugs to leave the premises of the Assembly.

Sources said when the Speaker heard about the development, he was said to have come out of his office and denied inviting the miscreants to the Assembly.

Although he said among the miscreants sent out of the premises was his personal assistant who he said was known to members of the Assembly.

Consequently, the lawmakers decided to hold an emergency meeting in the office of the Majority Leader.

Meanwhile, a detachment of armed operatives from the SWAT had been deployed to the Assembly to give the lawmakers protection.
