Chelsea thrash Port Vale 7-0 to cruise into FA Cup semi-finals

The FrontierThe FrontierApril 5, 2026 641 Minutes read0

Chelsea secured a place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a dominant 7-0 victory over League One side Port Vale at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

The Blues opened the scoring early, with Jorrel Hato finding the net after just 63 seconds, setting the tone for a comprehensive performance, reports AFP.

Joao Pedro added a second goal before Cole Palmer’s effort, initially credited to him, was later ruled an own goal by Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel, giving Chelsea a 3-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Tosin Adarabioyo headed home Chelsea’s fourth goal, Andrey Santos added a fifth from a corner, and Estevao Willian scored the sixth from close range.

A seventh goal came in stoppage time when Alejandro Garnacho converted a penalty, marking Chelsea’s largest margin of victory in this season’s FA Cup quarter-finals and securing their spot in the last four.

Manager Liam Rosenior made three changes to the starting lineup, with Tosin Adarabioyo replacing Marc Cucurella in defence, Andrey Santos coming in for Moises Caicedo in midfield, and Estevao Willian starting in place of Enzo Fernandez.

Port Vale had previously made headlines by eliminating Premier League side Sunderland in the fifth round, but they were unable to repeat that giant-killing performance against Chelsea.
