JUST IN: Hayatu-Deen boycotts ADC presidential results announcement, raises rigging allegations

The FrontierThe FrontierMay 26, 2026 850 Minutes read0

•ADC presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen responds to questions from reporters

A presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has announced that he will not attend the party’s presidential primary election results, citing concerns over alleged irregularities in the exercise.

Hayatu-Deen said reports reaching him from across the country indicated widespread vote manipulation during the primary process, reports The Guardian.

He also claimed to have personally witnessed some of the alleged irregularities.

“I will not be attending the announcement of the ADC Presidential Election Results today. I am concerned by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps,” he said via his X handle.

His position comes amid the ongoing ADC presidential primary contest involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen.
