Former NAFDAC boss, Paul Orhii, dumps PDP for ADC coalition

The FrontierThe FrontierJuly 28, 2025 1291 Minutes read0

Former Director-General of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr Paul Orhii, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a letter addressed to the Atirkyese Council Ward Chairman in Benue State, Orhii said his decision to dump the PDP came after intensive consultation with his family, friends, and supporters.

Orhii, who was a governorship aspirant under the PDP in 2019 and 2023, further noted that his resignation from the PDP would enable him to join the ADC rescue mission, reports Nigerian Tribune.

The letter reads: “After intensive consultations with my family, friends, thousands of my supporters and political Associates locally, Nationally and Globally I have decided to resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.

“This is to enable me join the coalition of other progressive minded Nigerians in the African

Democratic Congress (ADC) on the rescue mission.

“Consequently, I hereby tender my letter of resignation from our GREAT Party, the People’s

Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.

“I truly remain eternally grateful to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that gave me the

opportunity to serve my country Nigeria at the highest level. Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem.”
