•Cardoso and Okonjo-Iweala

The seventh meeting of the African Emerging Markets Forum is ongoing at the Central Bank headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting is attended by the Central Bank Governor, Oluyemi Cardoso; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji; business experts and participants across Africa.

The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is also expected at the event, reports Channels TV.

The theme for the event is Building Resilience Amidst Geoeconomic Uncertainties as policymakers and finance experts share perspectives on how to address volatilities in the global and domestic markets as well as how to harness investment and financial inclusion in the market.

The Deputy Governor of the CBN in charge of corporate services, Muhammad Abdullahi, in his welcome remarks, explains that while the impact of the global market is taking a toll on emerging economies, the tension presents opportunities for better fiscal and monetary output.
