Friends, colleagues and relations who spoke during the occasion extolled the humility of the Ondo State-born former Council Member/Treasurer of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).

The Frontier reports that, apart from his professional calling in Commerce, Sales & Marketing Management, Ogunshakin is a Certified Private Detective and Investigator. He is also a specialist in background checks consultancy services.

One of the highlights of the colourful event was the cutting of the 70th birthday cake by the celebrant, supported by his beloved wife, Mrs Joy Ogechi Ogunshakin.

Paying glowing tribute to her husband, Mrs Ogunshakin said, “Happy 70th birthday to my dearest husband. I want to thank you for every small thing and every big thing you do.

“You make my life beautiful and I am thankful to walk this life with you for 30 years and still counting…On your special day, I want you to know how much you are appreciated. I’m grateful for the adventures and memories we’ve shared. Here is to many more years of happiness together.”

In a brief remark about his new age, Mr Ogunshakin said, “What more can I say or do? Nothing except to give thanks to the Almighty God for all His mercies in my life, my works, my children, and for what I am today.”

The event was graced by many dignitaries including, Lt. Col. Bugbe Lasebikan (rtd); former president, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Chief Ganiyu Koledoye; Dr. Prince George Ayoade; Dr Akin Shyllon; Chairman Ojodu CDA, Mr Femi Abiona; Mrs Yemisi Awosika; Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of The Frontier online newspaper, Sunny Okim and wife Mrs Grace Okim, among others.
