INSIDE AKWA IBOM TODAY: Governor Eno joins South-South APC stakeholders to endorse Tinubu for 2027

•Governor Umo Eno

…pledges total commitment to party victory

Akwa Ibom State governor , Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his full commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that Akwa Ibom is firmly aligned with the progressive family and working resolutely for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the declaration during his maiden participation at the South-South APC Stakeholders Meeting held in Benin City, Edo State, which culminated in the endorsement of President Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for 2027 and the granting of automatic return tickets to the four incumbent APC governors in the region.

Addressing party faithful at the high-level gathering, Governor Eno said he was proud to be part of the South-South APC family and emphasised that his presence, with a strong delegation of stakeholders from Akwa Ibom, was a clear testament to his commitment and alignment with the party’s vision.

“This is my first outing with the APC South-South family, and I did not come alone. I came with a full team to demonstrate our seriousness and loyalty. We are fully committed to the APC and determined to work for the success of President Tinubu, the Senate President, and all our candidates,” governor Eno stated.

He reiterated his administration’s inclusive governance philosophy, known as the Akwa Ibom United policy, which emphasises development beyond political boundaries and promotes unity in service to the people.

“We are moving forward together. Akwa Ibom is on the rise, the train has left the station, and we are building partnerships across the board to deliver good governance. We will continue to speak with one voice and work with others to advance the South-South region,” he said.

Governor Eno lauded President Tinubu’s leadership and the federal government’s commitment to projects in the region, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the creation of the South-South Development Commission, describing them as signs of renewed inclusion for the region.

The meeting with the theme “Renewed Hope in Action: Strengthening APC Mobilization and Governance in the South-South,” brought together key leaders and stakeholders, and concluded with a communiqué affirming President Tinubu as the sole APC presidential candidate for 2027.

The communiqué also passed a vote of confidence on the President, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the four APC Governors in the South-South, and the party’s Zonal Working Committee.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Acting APC National Chairman Alhaji Ali Dalori, and APC National Vice Chairman (South-South) Chief Victor Giadom, state chairmen of the party also delivered goodwill messages, with Dalori formally welcoming Governor Eno to the APC.

Also in attendance were the governors of Cross River and Edo states, the deputy governor of Delta State, serving and former Senators, Members of the National and State Assemblies, Ministers, and other top party stakeholders across the zone.
