No fewer than two people were reportedly killed while valuables worth millions of Naira were also destroyed in a today morning inferno at one of the buildings in the Opadoyin compound of former governor of Oyo state, late Adebayo Alao-Akala.
According to a source, the inferno started around 7:50 am.
The source said a power surge is likely to be the cause of the inferno, reports The Nation.
It was gathered that one of the victims died instantly while the other gave up the ghost at Bowen University Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso where she was rushed for medical attention.
Another source, who was privy to the incident said he woke up at about 8 am when he noticed smoke from a part of the building but couldn’t fathom the cause.
