JUST IN: 5 female lawyers emerge branch chairmen of Nigerian Bar Association

Five women lawyers have been elected branch chairmen of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The five emerged from elections at the various branches during the ongoing 2024 Law Week.

The five elected chairmen are: Bukola Ajao, NBA Barnawa branch; Mrs Cordelia Eke, NBA Port Harcourt branch; Ms Olawunmi Adeola, NBA Ikorodu, Lagos branch, Leah Dagung Hassan, NBA Jos branch, and Rashidat Mohammed, NBA Sokoto branch.

A congratulatory message to the elected officers today made available to The Frontier, the Chairperson NBA Women Forum, Mrs Chinyere Okorocha, reads:

“On behalf of the NBA Women Forum, it is my distinct pleasure to congratulate these amazons on their inauguration as Chairmen of their respective branches. “Their election signifies progress toward inclusivity and filling in the gender gaps in leadership. We wish them every success in this new role and look forward to witnessing great accomplishments in their administration.”
