Stop parading yourself as NURTW president – Baruwa warned

The FrontierThe FrontierMay 6, 2024 2070 Minutes read0

•Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa

Members of the Progressive Forum under the platform of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), South West zone, has warned Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa to desist from parading himself as president of the NURTW.

In the warning contained in a statement jointly signed by Alhaji Raufu Kolawole and Femi Ajanaku, chairman and secretary, respectively, the Forum stated that the April 30 judgement of the National Industrial Court (NIC) presided over by Justice OO Oyewunmi, who washed his hands off the case because the matter has moved to the Court of Appeal in Abuja, has invalidated any claim by Baruwa to the NURTW presidency.

With the development, the Forum argued that the only known leader saddled with the responsibility of running the affairs of the union is the acting President, Alhaji Aliyu Issa Ore, and his team operating from the national headquarters of the union in Abuja

The Forum explained that Baruwa and his cohorts would have to wait for the judgement of the appellate court to decide the case, insisting that any attempt to do anything contrary would amount to a contempt of court.
