JUST IN: Bandits kidnap husband and wife in Zamfara

The FrontierThe FrontierJanuary 28, 2026 830 Minutes read0

•Bandits

A man known as Alhaji Ali and his wife have been reportedly kidnapped at their residence in Mada town, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Kidnapping especially in the Northern part of the country, has become a common occurrence with non-state actors such as ISWAP, Boko Haram, al-Qaeda, Lakasura, and bandits making hundreds of millions through payment of ransom, reports Daily Independent.

The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X today by security analyst Bakatsine.

“Last night, bandits stormed a private residence in the Tukanawa area, Mada town of Gusau LGA, Zamfara State. They abducted Alhaji Ali (Ali Babureshi) and his wife during the invasion.

“This is coming days after abducted children from the town were released. How long will communities live in fear? How long will banditry continue in Zamfara?,” Bakatsine wrote.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from security agencies on the incident.
