An unspecified number of school children have been reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen in Emure Local Government of Ekiti State.

Though the details are still very hazy, it was learned that the abducted children were said to be students of a yet- to-be disclosed school, reports Vanguard.

It was learned that the students were being conveyed yesterday in their school bus and were at the Eporo-Ekiti boundary when the incident happened.

The number of students in the kidnappers’ den is yet unknown and the police is yet to confirm the incident.

The incident followed the killing of two traditional rulers in the state; the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola were killed in an ambush by armed men while returning from a meeting. The third traditional ruler, the Alara of Ara –Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba escaped the attack.

Ekiti State governor, Biodun Oyebanji, who condemned the dastardly act, ordered security operatives in the state to fish out the killers of the two traditional rulers and assured the people of the state that the government would spare nothing to get to the root of the matter.
