JUST IN: Protest gets messier as contractors lay coffin in front of Finance Ministry over debts •PHOTOS

The FrontierThe FrontierDecember 3, 2025 2460 Minutes read0

Contractors have laid a coffin at the entrance of the Finance Ministry headquarters in Abuja.

The contractors under the aegis of All Indigenous Contractors Association of Nigeria (AICAN) started a non-stop protest at the ministry yesterday over debts being owed by the federal government, reports Daily Trust.

They accused the federal government of attempting to push them out of business.

Speaking with our correspondent, an executive of the association said they brought the coffin to symbolise how they had been burying their members due to incidents relating to the debt.

He said, “Even last week we buried a member, Abdulganiyu. This has been going on for long. And it’s unacceptable. We lost six members recently due to high blood pressure.”
