Labour Party offers Governor Otti free forms, pegs presidential at N50 million

The National Working Committee of the Labour Party, LP, has offered Governor Alex Otti free nomination form to contest the 2027 elections.

The party which released its timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct of its 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, said the timetable is in line with the Nigeria constitution, the Electoral Act, 2026, and the revised schedule issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), reports Daily Trust.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, the party said “sale of nomination forms for all elective offices shall commence tomorrow Wednesday, May 6, 2026 and end on Monday, May 16, 2026,” while submission of completed forms will run from May 17 to May 18, 2026.

It added that screening of aspirants for House of Assembly and governorship positions will hold on May 20, while those for National Assembly and presidential aspirants are scheduled for May 22, with “publication of screening results on 23rd May, 2026.”

On primaries, the statement said, “House of Assembly and governorship primaries will be held on 27th May, 2026, while National Assembly and presidential primaries are scheduled for 29th May, 2026.”

The party also announced fees for nomination forms saying for the presidential ticket, Expression of Interest form is ₦10 million while Nomination Form is ₦40 million.

The statement, however, noted that “female aspirants, persons living with disabilities and youths aged 25 to 30 years shall only be required to pay for the expression of interest forms for all categories of positions.”
