Labour Party primary election in Anambra: Choose me for my experience, innovation – Nwosu appeals to delegates

The FrontierThe FrontierApril 3, 2025 2582 Minutes read0

•John Nwosu

As the primary election of Labour Party in the November 8 Anambra Governorship election approaches, the front runner in the governorship race Mr. John Nwosu has appealed to delegates to vote for him because he has the experience and expertise to govern Anambra State.

Nwosu, in a message he sent to delegates, said that as an ICT expert, economist, and businessman with deep roots in the Labour Party and having served as the ICT Director of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 election, he has demonstrated both technical expertise and political experience.

Above all he has the financial war chest to prosecute the election.

Nwosu is the Chief Executive Officer of JetLink, a leading ICT company operating in Nigeria, Ghana, and Liberia, and he has built a career on innovation and problem-solving.

He said his decision to run is not just about ambition, but also about dedication, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the Labour Party’s values.

Nwosu said he is cut out for the job as he is out to the break the cycle of traditional politics which made people to lose faith in politicians.

He said: “It’s understandable that many of you have lost faith in politicians. Time and again, they have promised change but failed to deliver. Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for instance, promised a “Dubai-Taiwan” transformation but has fallen short, yet he still seeks a second term”.

Another reason why he a candidate to beat according to him is that since the inception of democracy, “Anambra State has never had a governor with a technology background.

“Past governors have come from academia, business, banking, medicine, and law. None had the expertise to bring technological advancements into governance.

“This lack of tech-driven leadership explains why the state continues to rely on outdated, unsustainable solutions”, he argued.

If elected, he said, he would be the first governor in Nigerian history to emerge from the technology sector, with a career spanning three decades and he will introduce:

AI-powered security systems with facial recognition to combat crime;

Smart schools with digital learning for students; Transparent governance, eliminating corruption through tech-driven accountability and Modern infrastructure, including speed trains and efficient public services.

“This is not a dream, it is an achievable reality. With John Nwosu leading the way I am the best candidate to defeat the incumbent”, he boasted.

Above all, Nwosu said he has the resources needed to run and win the election, he enjoys the backing of major voting blocs; youths, women, and religious groups and carries no political baggage, making him a fresh and credible alternative.
