Liverpool cruise into FA Cup Quarter finals

The FrontierThe FrontierMarch 7, 2026 721 Minutes read0

Liverpool have advanced into the quarter finals stage of the English FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The fifth round tie of the oldest cup competition in the world saw Liverpool put on a dominant second half performance to score thrice through Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah, and Curtis Jones to bring their goals tally to ten in the competition this season. Hwang Hee-Chan scored Wolves’ consolation.

Liverpool, 2022 FA Cup winners, had suffered a shock league defeat against the EPL basement club in midweek, but there was to be no repeat of such atrocious display as Robertson put Arne Slot’s strong side ahead with a 25-yard strike into the bottom corner on 51 minutes, and Salah quickly doubled the advantage with a strike into the roof of the net from Robertson’s cross.

Jones sealed the win with a curling strike from the edge of the area on 74 minutes, before Hee-Chan gave the home fans something to cheer in added time as Wolves crashed out of the FA Cup, while Liverpool avance into their third FA Cup quarter final appearance in five years.

The Anfield side, with eight titles in the competition, stays alive in one of two competitions where it retain hope of silverware this season.
