PRESS STATEMENT
Monday, 30th October, 2023
EMINENT LEADERS, THE PATRIOTS MOURN THE EXIT OF PROF BEN NWABUEZE
Eminent National Leaders in Nigeria under the auspices of The Patriots and Project Nigeria Movement regret to mourn the exit of our Chairman and Leader, Prof Ben Nwabueze, SAN who departed the world on Sunday, 29th October, 2023 at 92 years
Prof Ben Nwabueze, SAN was our leader in constitutional exploration for the stability and prosperity of Nigeria in the last 12 years, who led the platform of Nigeria’s eminent leaders, Statesmen and Women in both Project Nigeria Movement and The Patriots with great passion and candour from the FRA Williams Chambers in Lagos.
Prof Ben Nwabueze stepped into the shoes of Federick Rotimi Alade Williams of blessed memory as an outstanding authority in Constitution crafting and political reforms. He was very ingenious and courageous on national constitutional matters at all times as erudite constitutional lawyer, teacher and icon.
Our circle, after due consultation with the acting leader, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Cfr and other eminent national leaders of the Project Nigeria Movement and The Patriots, shall announce a programme of immortalisation for our departed leader.
Finally, we wish to condole and commiserate with members of the Nwabueze family as we plan to collaborate with them in giving our leader a befitting burial and immortalisation.
Signed:
Olawale Okunniyi
(Veteran Che)
National Secretary.
