Nite of a Thousand Laughs 30th anniversary lights up Asaba

The FrontierThe FrontierNovember 13, 2025 751 Minutes read0

As you read this, the Delta State capital, Asaba is fully charged with torents of electrifying neurons to celebrate the grand finale of the Nite of a Thousand Laughs 30th anniversary tour.

The event, billed to hold at The Dome event center, Asaba on Friday, November 21, 2025 by 3pm is the third leg in celebration of a brand that has dispensed raw charm and laughter and thrived for three decades. Already, the 30th anniversary train has touched Abuja and Port Harcourt.

The 30th anniversary edition in Asaba, will feature several veteran and reigning comedians on the same stage for the night.

Some of the most accomplished veterans expected on stage include: I go Save, AY, Gandoki, Klint Da Drunk, I Go Die, among several others. They will be joined by a plethora of sizzling new artists poised to deliver at the show rated as Africa’s best comedy event of all time.

Unarguably, the Mother of Comedy shows in Africa, Nite of A Thousand Laughs, apart from packaging laughter as business, also provided a platform and birthed top present comedy legends and kings. These lords of drollery have continued to hone their comical aptitudes, paving a pathway for the discovery of new talents.

A brain child of filmmaker, advertising chief and PR guru, Dr Opa Williams, Nite of A Thousand Laughs debuted in Lagos in 1995 and has toured major cities of Nigeria and other African countries in the past 30 years.

According to the Delta State-born showbiz entrepreneur in a chat with The Frontier, the choice of Asaba for the grand finale of the 30th anniversary is borne from the fact that “Delta is the birth place of stand up comedy in Africa, so there is no better place to celebrate its 30 years of consistency than the place where magic first began.”

Opa promised that as usual on November 21, 2025, the performances “shall have your chins lighted up, your ribs cracking and your eyes dropping with pleasant tears emiting from the mutual chemistry of life and laughter”.
