•Funke Akindele

Funke Akindele is one of the highest-paid Nollywood actresses in 2024. If you’re looking for the richest and most influential celebrities in Nigeria, Funke Akindele is among the top three.

From the luxurious cars, endorsement deals, and upstanding lifestyle, the local ‘Ikorodu’ girl has surely made her place in the industry.

In this article, Mark Adebayo, a senior celebrity publicist at Maximatic Media, sheds more light on her assets including cars, luxury items, business interests, brand deals, and more.

Stick around for the real figures!

Who is Funke Akindele?

Born in Ikorodu, Lagos State on the 14th of August 1977, Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele is a multi-hyphenate and prominent figure in the entertainment industry.

The renowned actress, director, producer, and entrepreneur is known for her stellar performance and quality film-making skills.

After rising to fame in 1998 with the United Nations Population Fund-sponsored TV show – ‘I Need To Know’, the popular actress subsequently made her first breakthrough with the film ‘Jenifer’ in 2018.

This film has led to sequels such as; “Jenifa’s Diary” and “Aiyetoro Town”. Her outstanding acting skills have garnered multiple accolades including 2019 Best Actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy in 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2022, and many more.

The savvy businesswoman also founded Scene One Productions, a major film-producing empire for many successful movies. She also founded The Funke Akindele Network (FAAN), an all-comprehensive approach to filmmaking, production, and public relations. Through this, she has led several block-busters hits such as; Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, and A Tribe Called Judah.

Currently, she holds the title for producing the Highest-Grossing Nollywood Film of All Time- A Tribe Called Judah, with over ₦1 Billion in earnings.
