NUJ refutes misleading reports on woman who allegedly tore husband’s Passport

The FrontierThe FrontierAugust 18, 2024 2240 Minutes read0

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, has dismissed a media report attributing a statement to the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Edo State Command, claiming that a woman who allegedly tore her husband’s international passport was merely creating a skit.

In a statement signed by the union’s Chairman, Festus Alenkhe, and Secretary, Andy Egbon, the NUJ clarified that the Comptroller’s words were taken out of context.

The statement read, “In reality, the Comptroller clarified that the lady in question is under investigation by the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the findings will be made public at the appropriate time.”

The NUJ urged the public to disregard the misleading report and apologised to the Nigeria Immigration Service for any embarrassment the publication may have caused.
