Polytechnic reads the riot act to new students against cultism

The FrontierThe FrontierApril 28, 2024 2871 Minutes read0

The acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nedeke, Dr Uzoma Ibeaja, has warned newly admitted students of the institution to shun cultism and other social vices.

He gave the warning during the 46th matriculation ceremony of the institution for the 2023/2024 academic session held at the premises of the institution, reports Sunday Sun.

He urged them to know their primary aim and objective of being in the institution and shun cultism and other social vices.

While stressing that the school was built on decency and the best standard of academic and behavioural excellence, he admonished the students to uphold and sustain the brand.

“In addition to this charge, you are advised to observe the following, avoid any form of indecent or inappropriate dressing. They attract negative attention from immoral minds.

“We have zero tolerance for cultism. Therefore, avoid anything or association that will lead you into such clandestine relationships. The penalty is instant rustication and handing you over to the Police for prosecution.

“Accordingly, you are expected to immediately report any attempt by anyone to lure you into such evil associations. We have zero tolerance for examination malpractice. If found guilty, you will be expelled, Ibeaja warned.

He said his administration had ushered in new ideas and innovation-driven methods to ensure peace, development, and progress in the institution.

“This year marks our 46 years of academic excellence (1978-2024). Within this period, the institution and her alumni can boast of having surpassed the expectations of her founding fathers,” he added.
