Remi Tinubu’s visit: Governor Adeleke’s 2 wives battle over First Lady title

The FrontierThe FrontierApril 23, 2024 3691 Minutes read0

The two wives of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State have released separate posters to welcome the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the state.

The president’s wife is due to visit Osun, today, reports Daily Trust.

Both women – Ngozi and Titilola, have consistently laid claim to the Office of the First Lady in Osun, fueling the recent incident of the right to welcome Tinubu’s wife.

In the battle of supremacy, ahead of Mrs Tinubu’s visit, both women printed separate flyers with their names and pictures welcoming Tinubu.

In her poster, Ngozi Adeleke wrote, “Welcome to the state of living spring. Experience the beauty of Osun State’s landscape,” followed by her signature as the First Lady of Osun State.

Meanwhile, in a separate poster, Titilola Adeleke, also welcomed Mrs Tinubu and signed off as the First Lady of Osun State.

It is not common for the president or governors’ wives to fight over the Office of the First Lady in Nigeria, making this one a strange occurrence.

Meanwhile, Senegalese President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, sworn in early this month paraded his two wives – Marie Khone and Absa at the inauguration.

It is uncertain whether both of them would be regarded as the First Ladies or the official title would not be recognised.
