Israel Eshanekpe, also known as Akpodoro, Mayor of Urobo Land, has characterized the decision of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Public to suspend Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi central senatorial district, as long overdue.
He articulated this viewpoint in Abuja recently, during his visit to a prominent legislator at the National Assembly complex, reports Daily Independent.
Senator Akpoti-Udighan made a sensational accusation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio of engaging in sexual harassment, an incident that ignited fervent debates and discussions regarding the role of women in national politics and within the National Assembly.
However, the Mayor contends that Akpabio has been unjustly accused, asserting that the Senate President has exemplified finesse and decorum.
“Senator Akpabio has conducted himself admirably in the face of provocation and an orchestrated scandal propagated by Senator Akpoti-Udighan to tarnish the integrity of the Senate and its leadership,” Akpodoro remarked.
He went on to characterise Akpoti-Uduaghan as excessively confrontational and lacking in deference to constituted authority.
The Mayor further implored the Senator to exhibit more humility, comprehension, patience, and maturity akin to that of a Nigerian woman.
