•Hon. Joe Ikpea

The caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo Central Senatorial District has unanimously adopted Hon. Joe Ikpea as its sole candidate in the Senatorial by-election scheduled for August 16, 2025.

The caucus in a statement in Benin and signed by the Edo State Deputy Chairman of the party, Sylvester Aigboboh, stated that the decision was reached at a meeting held in Benin City on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

The statement described his emergence as a demonstration of unity and purpose within the Edo Central APC family.

It added that party leaders and stakeholders resolved to rally behind Ikpea, reports Daily Independent.

The caucus urged all party members, supporters, and stakeholders across Edo Central to close ranks and give maximum support to Ikpea’s candidacy to secure victory for the party in the election.

Ikpea had served as Edo State Commissioner for Minerals, Oil, and Gas, as well as Executive Chairman of Esan South East Local Government Area.
