A suspected ritualist, who specialises in buying and selling of human parts has been paraded in Ibadan along other suspected criminals.

The suspected ritualist, one Muhammad Adekunle was apprehended and paraded by officers of Oyo State Police Command for allegedly killing and selling human parts in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The suspected ritualist was paraded at the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan today, reports Daily Independent.

The state police commissioner, CP Ayodele Sonubi while parading the suspect and others at the state Police Command Headquarters maintained that the suspect sometimes in January, 2024 together with Lukman, Olobe and Ifa, all now at large conspired to be killing people for money ritual.

Ayodele Sonubi noted that the suspect, sometimes in the month of April, 2024 and others now at large lured one Adekola Sodiq at Moniya where they severed his head and legs which were sold to one Obaleye Sanmi and one Ismail Olalekan.

“The suspect confessed that on 7th August, 2024, himself and others now at large stabbed one Malik Kareem to death and severed his head and legs which was sold to one Rashidat Akanji at Oje Market for the sum of Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00).

“Meanwhile on 11th August, 2024 at about 0630hrs, execution of search warrant was conducted in the houses and premises of the suspects where a fresh part was recovered and which he voluntarily confessed to be the parts of the said Malik Kareem whom they killed on 7th August, 2024.

“In the course of the investigation the following suspects; Muniru Salawudeen ‘m’, Rashidat Akanji ‘f’ Ismail Olalekan ‘m’ and Obaleye Sanmi ‘m’ were arrested and they confessed that they bought different types of human parts for money ritual from the said Adekunle Mohammed.”

“On 10th August, 2024 at about 0015hrs, one Ayede ‘m’ reported at above mentioned Station that earlier on the same date, an offensive odour was noticed oozing out from a Building that belongs to one Muhammad Adekunle ‘m’ age 40yrs AND that the said owner is not residing in the house but he usually visits the house at odd hours of the day.

“On receipt of the information, Operatives from Moniya Divisional Police Headquarters swung into action and moved to the scene, where a dry well was seen at the compound of the house. On close observation, gory sights of what had the semblance of mutilated human bodies were spotted inside the well.

“Eventually, the remains of three unidentified bodies were removed to State Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy. Photographs were as well taken.

In the same vein, the Police said the Command also arrested one Muyideen Raimi for exhuming and cutting off head of his late cousin, Sulaiman Aromokun buried at Aromokun’s compound, Isale Ijebu, Ibadan.

The Police said the suspect was subsequently arrested with the exhibit and he confessed to the crime and as well mentioned one Sumaila a.k.a Baba Ibeji now at large, whom they conspired and perpetrated the act.

“He confessed further that their intention was to use the skull for money ritual. However, investigation is ongoing and further development will be communicated, please.

Other suspects arrested by the Command include suspected armed robbers and suspected rapist among others.

Sonubi however said the Police will not relent in it’s effort towards making sure that the state became uninhabitable for crimes and criminalities.
