TikToker remanded in Kirikiri Prison over alleged cyberbullying of late singer Mohbad’s widow

•Late singer Mohbad

A TikToker, Shoyemi Damilola Titilayo, accused of cyberbullying Aloba Omowunmi Cynthia, widow of late singer, Aloba Promise Ilerioluwa, popularly known as Mohbad, has been remanded in Kirikiri Prison pending the perfection of her bail conditions.

Shoyemi was arraigned before the Magistrate Court sitting at 111, Birrel Avenue, Onike, Yaba, Lagos, presided over by Magistrate A.I. Alaka, on a five-count charge, reports Daily Independent.

The court granted her bail but ordered that she remains in custody until she meets the conditions, which include providing two sureties in the sum of N500,000 each.

The sureties are also required to provide evidence of residence in Lagos and updated tax clearance certificates covering the last three years.

According to the prosecutor, Irorere Osas, Shoyemi allegedly committed the offences between August 2025 and March 2026 along the Lagos-Sango Road, Lagos State, alongside other persons still at large.

In the first count, the prosecution alleged that Shoyemi and others conspired to commit a felony by disturbing public peace, an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The second count alleged that Shoyemi and others produced a TikTok live broadcast in which they accused Cynthia of murdering her late husband, Mohbad.

The prosecution said the publication was capable of causing fear and alarm among members of the public, contrary to Section 39(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

In the third count, Shoyemi was accused of using the same TikTok live broadcast to call on members of the public to subject Cynthia and her minor son, Liam Aloba, to jungle justice, thereby provoking a breach of peace.

The offence was said to be contrary to Section 57(1)(c) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The fourth count alleged that Shoyemi advised, counselled and procured members of the public to subject Cynthia and her son to jungle justice, thereby procuring the commission of an offence against their persons.

The prosecution said the alleged act contravened Section 161(1)(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

The fifth count accused Shoyemi of knowingly transmitting a recorded threat in which a statement was allegedly made during a TikTok live broadcast threatening to kill Cynthia and her minor son.

The prosecution said the alleged act constituted an offence contrary to Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

Shoyemi, who was arrested yesterday, is expected to remain at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions imposed by the court.
