Tinubu arrives in Rwanda for Africa CEO Forum

•Tinubu, on arrival at the Presidential Wing of the Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, being received by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, today

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum 2026, which begins tomorrow.

According to a statement issued today by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President arrived at the Presidential Wing of Kigali International Airport and was received by Bianca Ojukwu and Juvenal Marizamunda.

Other dignitaries on hand to welcome the President included Jumoke Oduwole, Mohammed Mohammed, Ibrahim Zanna and Sunday Dare.

President Tinubu was later received by Paul Kagame at the Urugwiro Village, where both leaders held bilateral talks aimed at strengthening relations between Nigeria and Rwanda.

Founded in 2012 by Jeune Afrique Media and co-hosted by the International Finance Corporation, the Africa CEO Forum is regarded as the continent’s largest annual gathering of private sector leaders, investors and policymakers.

The event focuses on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration, shared scale and increased cross-border investment.

The theme of this year’s forum is “The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.”

At the forum, President Tinubu will deliver an address titled, “Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,” where he is expected to highlight the progress and benefits of the economic reforms undertaken by his administration.

The president will also hold high-level meetings with African and global business leaders to promote Nigeria as a leading destination for investment and to reaffirm the country’s commitment to deepening regional economic cooperation.

The two-day summit, scheduled for May 14 to 15 at the Kigali Convention Centre, is expected to attract more than 2,000 chief executives, investors, policymakers and several African heads of state.

The presidency said Mr Tinubu would use the forum to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to advancing African unity, fostering strategic partnerships and supporting private sector-driven sustainable development across the continent.
