1. Aliko Dangote (Nigeria)

Aliko Dangote, the first Nigerian man to build a private refinery, a businessman and industrialist, remains Africa’s Richest person with a net worth of approximately $13.9 billion. Dangote made his wealth mainly through the production of cement and other investments in salt and sugar. Despite the continued devaluation of the naira that offset the rising share price of Dangote Cement, he remains the richest African man.

2. Johann Rupert & family (South Africa)

Johann Rupert is a South African billionaire whose wealth is attributed to luxury goods and investments through his company, Compagnie Financière Richemont, which is worth around $10.1 billion. He is the eldest son of a tobacco business tycoon, Anton Rupert.

He is 74 years old, resides in Cape Town, South Africa, is married to Gaynor Rupert, and has 3 children.

3. Nicky Oppenheimer & family (South Africa)

Nicky Oppenheimer, an heir to the De Beers diamond fortune, the world’s largest diamond producer, has a fortune of about $9.4 billion.

He is age 79, from Johannesburg, South Africa, married to Orcillia Lasch, and has one son. He holds a Bachelor of Art/Science from Oxford University Christ Church and a Master of Art from the same institution.

4. Nassef Sawiris (Egypt)

Nassef Sawiris is an Egyptian businessman and a member of the wealthiest family in Egypt, with a net worth of $8.7 billion, with investments in construction, fertilizers, and sports, including a stake in Adidas and Aston Villa football club.

He is 63 years old and resides in Cairo, Egypt; married to Shrine Magar and has 4 children, and holds a Bachelor of Arts/Science from the University of Chicago.

5. Mike Adenuga (Nigeria)

Mike Adenuga is Nigeria’s second richest man, fifth in Africa, and 407 in the world is worth $6.9 billion and made his fortune in telecommunications (Globacom) and oil production (Conoil).

He is 71 years old and resides in Lagos, Nigeria, married to Titi Joyce Adenuga with 7 children, and he holds a Master of Business Administration from Pace University.
