Prioritise locally-made vehicles – ANAMMCO urges govt, corporate firms

The FrontierThe FrontierApril 11, 2024 3751 Minutes read0

The Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company has urged governments at all levels and corporate organisations to prioritise patronage of locally-made vehicles to create employment and boost the country’s economy.

This was as the firm said its trucks are made with Nigerian roads, fuel supply and economy in mind and that they are highly durable and rugged, with simple engines for lower fuel consumption while they are easily affordable.

General Manager of ANAMMCO, Chinelo Igwe, said this today during a news conference at the ongoing 35th Enugu International Trade Fair.

The fair, which began on April 5, is themed: “Promoting made-in-Nigeria products for global competitiveness,” reports NAN.

Igwe said patronage of locally-made vehicles would boost production and create massive employment that would further reduce crime, especially among youths.

She said that the company was partnering with Dongfeng to produce light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks built to withstand Nigerian roads and convey tonnes of goods across the length and breadth of the country.

According to her, ANAMMCO gives a year service warranty on its trucks, adding that through a synergy with GUO Motors, the company had opened service workshops in all 36 states of the federation and had readily available parts for all the trucks.

“Our trucks are made with Nigerian roads, fuel supply and economy in mind, they are highly durable and rugged, with simple engines for lower fuel consumption while they are easily affordable.

“The trucks are 100 per cent manufactured in the country with locally sourced materials, with seasoned professional plant workers and time-tested technicians to give sound after-sales servicing and repairs.

“These trucks are our own. We want massive patronage for all our trucks to make our plant facilities perform optimally and enable us to employ additional thousands of youths,” she said.

Also, the Director-General of the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Mr Uche Uba, said that ANAMMCO had been known for producing vehicles that were durable and of outstanding quality for ages.

Mbah also said that ANAMMCO vehicles remained a clear testament to a Nigerian vehicle manufacturing company that offered high international standards at home.

“These trucks being displayed are the best in terms of management, pocket price and serviceability,” he said.
