WAEC fixes new date of registration for private candidates

The FrontierThe FrontierSeptember 12, 2025 1670 Minutes read0

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has prolonged the enrollment deadline for the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for private candidates until September 19, 2025.

Initially, the registration deadline was established for September 5, reports Daily Independent.

This updated date was communicated through WAEC’s official X account (formerly known as Twitter).

The announcement stated: “The registration period for CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2025—Second Series, has been extended to Friday, September 19, 2025. All prospective candidates are encouraged to seize this opportunity. ”

Although the extension has been positively received, there persists a prevailing skepticism regarding the transition from traditional to digital application processes for WAEC examinations.
