The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Deputy National Women Leader, Yemisi Afolabi, has urged women to embrace the party.
She hailed the conduct of the national convention in Abuja, saying that “ADC Is Ready for 2027.”
Afolabi congratulated the leadership, delegates, and members nationwide on what she described as a “peaceful, transparent, and highly successful” national convention and a triumph at the court, reports The Nation.
She noted that the convention brought together stakeholders from the 36 states and the FCT to elect new national officers and set the tone for ADC’s march toward the 2027 general election.
Afolabi also stated that the legal breakthrough has strengthened the party to prepare for the upcoming polls. Afolabi, speaking with reporters in Abuja, commended the conduct of delegates and the maturity displayed by the aspirants.
She said: “What we witnessed was democracy in action. ADC has shown Nigerians that internal party politics can be done without bitterness.”
Afolabi singled out the role of women for special praise, recalling that ADC women turned out in unprecedented numbers as both delegates and mobilisers, securing key positions in the newly constituted National Working Committee (NWC).
She added: “At the convention, ADC women were visible and vocal. We thank the party for creating a level playing field, and we assure Nigerians that ADC women will be at the frontline of the 2027 rescue mission.”
