7 dead as commercial bus, motorcycle, tricycle collide

A motorcycle, tricycle, and commercial intracity bus today collided in Osogbo, Osun State, and seven people died while one person was injured.

The accident occurred around 9:30 in the morning opposite the Women and Children Development Initiative Foundation (WOCDIF), around the Osogbo-Ilobu bypass, reports Daily Sun.

The Public Enlightenment Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Agnes Ogungbemi, confirmed the incident.

She explained that a commercial intracity bus with registration number MAZDA ES300; a tricycle with registration number RLG 898 QE; and a motorcycle with registration number SGB 630 DN, were involved in the accident.

According to the FRSC, the accident was caused by a tyre bust speed violation and loss of control.

A female child was reportedly injured in the accident while four male adults, two male children and one female child died.
