Another bomb blast kills 4, injures 10 in Borno

The FrontierThe FrontierJune 26, 2025 1850 Minutes read0

•An explosion

Four persons have been killed while 10 others sustained injuries when an Isuzu vehicle conveying passengers from Damboa to Maiduguri, Borno State yesterday rammed into an improvised explosive device (IED) suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram terrorists.

The incident, which occurred around 3:30pm, involved a Suzuki pick-up truck that ran over an improvised explosive device, reports The Guardian.

Confirming the attack, Borno State Police Command’s spokesperson, ASP Nahum Daso, said the injured victims had been rushed to the state Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri for treatment.

“I confirm that the incident happened. Four persons died and 10 sustained various degrees of injuries.”

Travellers said the explosion caused a major gridlock, delaying movement for hours.

Recall that in a similar incident last Friday at the same Konduga, a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber detonated an IED at a joint in a crowded fish market and killed 12 persons with 18 others sustaining injuries.

Security sources and eyewitnesses confirmed that the attacker infiltrated the market disguised as a civilian before detonating the explosive.
